So I kept fishing the spots known for producing big flounder and I finally felt that bump. The only thing I could think was FINALLY I got a bite! So I set the hook deep in the flounders mouth and pulled him up. He was a respectable 17 inch flounder. So I put him on the stringer and kept on fishing. Not 10 cast later that bump came to the end of my fishing pole and it was a good hard strike. I knew this fish was going to be a bigger one. Again i set the hook and brought up the big ol beautiful flat fish. This fish was a little nice around 19 inches. But those two had nothing on the last fish I hooked into. I actually thought I was hung up for a second. I didn't even feel this monster suck my Flounder Pounder up. So I kinda lifted the end of my pole to tighten the line. And then I felt the monster fish move and I knew it was a flounder. So I set the hook good and hard and the beast came up right in front of me. Not four feet from my feet. In two reels and one big heave the fish was up on the bank. It was a big saddle blanket. 25 inches and 6.5 lbs.
Once I got him on the bank I was ready to catch my limit and go home to show off my first real Saddle Blanket. Here is the pic of the flounder. I think the fish looked bigger in person. But you can def tell the size of the fish in the picture.
Check out the pic below!
