Today I took my Mom and her friend Carol out fishing in the Texas ship Channel. Its a pretty neat little spot where you can walk and jig around a lot of structure. I have been having good luck there with the Chartreuse Swirly Tail Flounder Pounders. Yesterday I went there and caught 7 nice flounder within a hour. The two I brought back home were 23 and 20 inches.
Today the flounder were not biting as good. We ended up with four fish between 16 and 20 inches. My mom caught two and I caught two. Carol did not have any luck at all.
Here are a couple of pics from today's catch.

Fishing the San Louis Pass, Galveston Texas 11/26/11
We had a storm come through on the Island and it was getting chilly. I knew the flounder had to be loving this cold front coming in. Every second I kept looking out the window checking on the weather conditions. I have no problem fishing in the rain but if it is thundering or lightening outside I am out!
After I landed that first monster flounder I was ready to catch another one and get home. So I walked about 50 feet to this little deep hole the flounder like to stack up on and casted. On the first cast I felt that same flounder bump and set the hook. This one was not as big as the first but it was not a little one by all means 19 inches. I had my limit and I was ready to get home to clean the two nice flounder.
Around 5:00 pm it was looking good for a real fisherman to go out. So I grabbed my pole and flounder pounders and I hit the door running. The drive was so nice!!! You could see the sun shinning through the clouds to the left over the Gulf and over to the right it look dark and rainy. I drove down to one of many spots I fish at the pass and started casting. Around 10 cast in I felt the first bump. My heart started thumping fast I knew it was a flounder inhaling my red and white flounder pounder. I set the hook and the fight was on. First fish was a 23 inch flounder monster! This was a good start to a stormy fishing day.
